Island Yard and Kinney Yard

I know Kinney Yard was built around 1955-1956 to avoid congestion around the Lynchburg downtown area and a diesel servicing area placed there for the dieselized Lynchburg to Durham line. That being said, Island Yard was most likely closed down in the mid to late 1950's or early 1960's.
