Rock colors

Try to get your hands on Bill McClannahan's Scenery book.  It gives very good color mixes for different rock colors.  Example brown sandstone is Cadmium Orange and Van Dyke Brown, either acrylic or oil.  I model the WV, Virginia area as well.  Good Sandstone and shale molds are available from Brogdon.

What color do the modelers use to replicate rock formations along the N & W?  Especially near Rural Retreat.  Any color photos would be appreciated.
