Thanks, Marty.  That information is what I was looking for.  Do you happen to know how the RS3s and S4s were used?  Were they switchers, work on main lines, or what?  Thanks.

N&W purchased 8 RS3s in 1955-56, and inherited 23 more from NKP in 1964.  Most were retired in the early 1970s, with the last being retired in 1979.

The N&W inherited 38 S4s in the 1964 merger from Nickel Plate and Wabash.  Most of them were retired in the early 1970s, the last in 1976.
