Did both the WB Coal and WB Merchandise yards use hump crew and trimmer crews. Or just one?

Can speak only to the Merchandise Hump -- in the 1970s, the Operations
Planning Dept. was sent to Portsmouth to justify continuance of that
facility. It operated only one trick a day. The crew that shoved cars over
the hump also went to the east end, made the tracks tight, and set out
blocks for the westbound merchandise trains to pick up. Other than the yard
crew, there was a yardmaster, a car retarder operator, and a clerk. Remember
that the facility was built in the 1900's B.C. (Before Computers).
Portsmouth could hump cars faster and with less people than the modern
Bellevue Hump, Bellevue even had an assignment that could over-ride
the computerized car retarders. But the Merchandise hump was retired
anyway. Harry Bundy
