NW Mailing List nw-mailing-list at nwhs.org

Didn’t there used to be an ad section in TAF?Or maybe we could put it on the website?  Perhaps a commission to the society. NMRA Regional conventions sometimes hold silent auctions that the seller and region split the proceeds.

For years it was the policy, decided by the BOD, that we would not allow advertisements for items that were not carried in ?the commissary. This policy was reviewed and affirmed more than once over the years.?After reviewing the question again, and the flurry of comments posted today, this policy will be discussed at the next BOD meeting in February. There are many factors to be considered, and all the comments received will be taken into account.?Thank you all for your interest.

Mark,
Train shows are a good way to buy/sell however many of us live in areas where there is very little or no activity like that and must rely on groups or feebay.
Here in NW Arkansas it's model train purgatory! There's usually one train show within 70 miles per year. Many folks also have transportation issues to consider too.
Most of my groups allow buying/selling with some limits such as:
must be related to the group subject mattertransactions must be conducted offlineno formal business ads or salesno long lists to eat up space and only mention of item & contact infocertain days of the week or month to announce deals
I think with any or all of these restrictions the N&W group could function as it should as well as comply with members ability to do some selling.

to me if your going to see train? or model railroad stuff why not sell it on the train shows i admit i have never sold nor bought? much the only thing i have is a model of j 611 i would think train shows dealers that sell trains equipment and so on do well there but maybe you might get a better price there just something to think about

Good evening to all,

Bowser has recently announced the two bay 55 ton "fishbelly" hoppers
(class HL) in HO scale.  These items are due in mid 2019 and I would like to
gauge interest of the followers of this list and our members.  If enough
interested is stated we will investigate selling these hoppers through the
commissary.

Abramo, Master Turnip Farmer

This is one reason I suggested the Modeling List instead of this general list.  I do not want THIS list to be the sell/buy/trade forum either because it will inevitably lead to the undisciplined into carelessly trying to post modeling topics here.  What a gigantic pain for the moderators.

I think many would like to offer their N&W/VGN items to like minded souls before casting to a wider net.

Yeah ,  I'd like to see some stuff for sale on here too.  It really would
be beneficial,  and interesting.  I  don't like  feeding the beast like
'E-pay'  or the other big website store.
Models, books, certain magazines with N&W or NF & D articles,  calendar,
a speedster,  old gnu,  its all good.  I'd like to pick up a good small
'Station list ' books or the one that had the rules for a district.

I use the delete key now with extreme prejudice,  ( except for a Mike
Pierry Pics !)  I keep those : )

Yeah  that's a great idea.  Buy  Sell  Trade  in subject line  "Looking
For"  That's a good one to.

 sounds good .
