Boyce, Virginia depot

My great grand father was the engineer on the passenger train between Hagerstown, MD and Roanoke, VA in the 1930’s.  I believe he got off in Shenandoah, VA and left it to another engineer to get the train to Roanoke.  Boyce was one of the stations where he stopped the train for passengers.

Is there any chance there might be records there in Boyce of my great grand father, Wendell Trenton Miller?  I’m trying to pull together as much of his story on the railroad as possible, but it’s difficult because he died at the YMCA in Shenandoah in 1937 and because of the timing of his death he did not qualify for benefits.  So there is not much about him in the records.

I’m also looking for pictures of his engine.  Anyone know what number engine ran North and South between Roanoke and Hagerstown?  I’m assuming there will have been more than one.
