That is correct.

The 1827 remained in N&W paint until after the end of service when it was stored and donated in late 1973 to Roanoke Chapter NRHS. It was repainted back to N&W tuscan and gold, and renumbered to RNRH 1210 and named John M. Hancock. It remained in that name and number until sometime in the mid 1980s, when it was repainted and renumbered to the N&W number 1827 and the name removed. It remained in excursion service until the Chapter sold it to the Monticello Railroad Museum about 2011.

The Chapter also acquired sister coach 1829 from Railroad Passenger Cars in Baltimore in the mid 1980s, converted it to an open window coach, removed the remaining. Stainless sheets at the top and repainted it to N&W tuscan and gold. The 1829 had the unfortunate luck of being positioned in the curve when the excursion train was backed into by a piggyback train in Lynchburg in September 1994. It was brought back to Roanoke, but its fate was sealed, as it had a broken center sill, and it was scrapped over the next couple of years.
