I'd be interested in seeing some more photos.  I found quite a few videos of 2-8-0's that were still running in England after the war.  If I remember correctly some were still is use past 2000.   I'll have to look for the site again.

I'll stop after these unless anyone wants to see photos of military railroading from the Philippines to France, from Civil War to Vietnam.  One is, again, 606, in Dec 1966 while OCS Candidates hang around (note the one wise guy on the tender) at Ft. Eustis during the Vietnam War Era.  And one of my favorites - according to the photo this is T/4 Toni Kloskey, Milwaukee, Wisc, christening a locomotive of the first "fast freight" train from a French Port to Paris.  Cherbourg, 1/21/45.  Where is Toni today, bless her heart!

Thanks, Bob.  I needed to satisfy my curiosity about the lead on the Army Consolidation.  Now I know they were a right-lead engine.
