Athearn Announcement - March 27, 2020 - NW & NKP GP18's, HO Scale

Athearn has announced a future run of NW GP18's, as well as NKP GP18's. The NW units are in black with the block NW lettering, the F6 scheme. Models are available in four road numbers and are available both DCC ready (MSRP $209.98 ea) and with DCC & Tsunami 2 Sound (MSRP $299.98 ea). Pricing at your preferred supplier may vary. Expected delivery schedule is late March 2021.

NW Road Specific details include:

  *   Nose-mounted bell
  *   Model set up for long hood forward operation per NW practice
  *   Leslie RS5T horn
  *   Dynamic brakes

NKP Road Specific details include:

  *   Forward facing gyralight, flash effect on DCC+Sound
  *   Forward facing 2-chime horn and rear-facing single chime horn
  *   Cab sunshades
  *   No dynamic brakes
  *   Nose-mounted bell
  *   Firecracker antenna
