Harry,  I believe the Great Flood of 1985 occurred on Nov. 4.  Steam era blueprints were also submerged under 4-5 feet of water in the physical laboratory. Thankfully my dad carefully saved them and dried each one outdoors. I have all of them. They remind me of the affection for N&W steam we shared.   John Garner

If you remember,  "the Attic"  (4th floor that is) was redone so that

Abdul Bhutta's number dummies had an office.  At that time, N&W

drawings were moved from the 4th floor to the basement.  Then 

came the storm in October '85 (?) that submerged the basement,

and water-soaked the drawings.  They were thrown in the Dempsy

Dumpster out back.  People saw me going through the dumpster

and thought I'd forgotten my lunch, but I was able to save a 

handful of drawings that have been copied and are on file at

the Salem Avenue archives.           Harry Bundy
