Mike,

That is an impressive coaling tower.  What software are you using to model the structure?

Thanks.

Subject: Auville/Iaeger engine shed color question

Hello crew,
I am cross posting this discussion, from the facebook group: Fans of the Norfolk & Western and Virginian Railway in order to hopefully get some assistance from the guys who are not on facebook.

I am attempting to determine the accurate color scheme for the engine shed.  I am attaching a couple images which help to understand how the trim was painted, but we are not very certain of the wall color.  From the Archives drawings, I know that the walls and roofs were covered with  J.M Transite Corrugated Roofing and J.M. Transite Corrugated Siding, and asbestos cement product.  This would likely mean it was a light gray cement color, unless it was painted.

The very dark b&w picture is from just after the shed was built, and the roof appears to be a similar color to the siding, which seems reasonable if they were both asbestos-cement products.
In the color picture with the white and blue car, it seems possible the side wall is painted white, even though the end wall appears more gray. This could be due to smoke.
The trim appears to be a reddish brown, and I wonder if it is the same color as station trim at the time?
The cupola is labeled as being the same corrugated siding as the side walls.  In the old b&w picture, it does appear to have been painted a dark color on the sides, and matching cement or white on the ends.

The color images were identified as Bill Gordon pictures, and the b&W are Archive pics.

Finally, if anyone has any pics they can share, I would be very, very appreciative.  I hope to model the service area over the next year.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here is my current 3D modeling and printing project that goes along with this research.
