One of the reasons after a long time as a member I left the NWHS as well as Mr. Fiduciary forgetting what the NWHS is all about. Don’t expect this to be printed but my two cents.

I am unhappy with the feuding that is raging on these pages and in The Arrow. One of the things missing from any historical account of railroading is the effect on the family of having a railroader in the family, usually as the breadwinner.

Tim's article gave us insight into the way families are affected, especially as a boy grows up. I am glad that Tim is from a railroading family. I didn't have that experience. Alex's article was full of information that as usual I got lost in and will require less TV and more study to fully digest.

What I object to are the attacks that are coming, with encampments established, and a lack of compromise and goodwill that allow a Society (ours and in general) to flourish. It is one issue of the Arrow. Everybody can't be pleased every issue. There is no trend. There is no one right way. We haven't found the wrong way.

So can we all pull our horns in...(RS5T, if you please) and electronically shake hands (like fax machines) and agree to be friends even if we disagree.

The harshness I feel in the words I am reading are a sure way to end the NWHS. Let's not do that.
