White is an odd color choice for a steam-era railroad. Lots of smoke and soot to blacken it up.

Hi,

If you mean the standard combination stations or other wood frame construction.

There are a few schemes over the years. There is the cream with brown trim. There is the white with green trim. The white was a newer scheme, new being late steam were. However, they did not change all the buildings at once or even ever.

If you are modeling, you can look up the exact depot. You should be able to notice the cream color vs. White in old photos. Or you can pick new/old colors, or just pick one you like better.
