Jim,
A very similar setting, this appears to be an eastbound hill job out of Elmore, climbing past Bud, WV, up to Clark's Gap. Those would be EL-3As on the head end, Virginian's three-motor version of the N&W LC-2s, plus a pusher.

I am fairly sure this is Switchback in early electrification due to the catenary construction. My problem is, I believe we should see the branch going down to the mines in the valley/bottom in this shot, but I can't make it out. Can anyone shed some light on this?
