Following the reorganization of the Pullman Company in 1948, railroads owned all the new cars and leased them to the Pullman Company for operation. It was almost standard for the railroad name to appear on the center of the letterboard with a small "Pullman" at each end. A few roads did it differently, with "Pullman" in the center and their road name in small letters at each end.

Hi society, I've been looking at photos of the S1.https://www.nwhs.org/archivesdb/detail.php?ID=17461I can't help but notice they say Pullman on them. I'm making a model of them, and I'm confused by that. Why do the Budd cars say Pullman on the top near the ends? I've just realized that there is probably something I don't know about here.David Baker________________________________________
