Bluefield name change

Alexa, why was Graham Virginia renamed to Bluefield Virginia Bluefield, Virginia in 1924 the name was approved by a vote of 287 to 223 in a referendum on June 10 of that year the town changed its name to match the larger city of Bluefield, West Virginia, which had grown rapidly due to the Norfolk and western railroad choosing it as the site for its regional headquarters
