Livestock is a seasonal business, N&W used the stock cars in the off season, to carry brick as it was a product that was immune to weather and harder to damage, and it made a good use of the cars when they were out of livestock season.<br><br>I well remember seeing the stock cars on the siding at the nearby brick plant, must have been late 1960s and asking my father about it, since he was a Radford Division Conductor, and that is what he had told me.
