    <pre style="white-space:pre-wrap">Actually, his name was E.D. Payne and he was distantly related to my late wife. He had one of the quickest minds that I have ever known! Never at a loss for a comeback! Despite his flaws, he was a good conductor to work with. I learned a lot from him and I am proud to call him my friend!
