<html><body>It depends what era you're modeling, as there are fewer ex-N&W cars in the current NS business fleet compared with right after the merger. Here is some information I have compiled about the early NS fleet:<div><br></div><div>N&W 100 - NS 7 Pocahontas, later sold to Conrail, came back after CR split as NS 7 Pennsylvania</div><div>N&W 200 - NS 4 Lambert's Point</div><div>N&W 300 - NS 5 Roanoke, sold by 1990</div><div>N&W 450, ex diner 491 to sleeper/dorm - NS 12 Indiana</div><div>N&W 493 Gen William Mahone - NS 18 Gen Nathan Bedford Forrest, later Gen William Mahone</div><div>N&W 494 Fredrick J Kimball - NS 19 General William Mahone, later Kentucky</div><div>N&W 90 Hollins College - NS 10 Hollins College, sold by 1990</div><div>N&W 500 - NS 3 Claytor Lake</div><div>N&W 501 - NS 28</div><div>N&W 533 - NS 29</div><div>N&W 600 - NS 24, retired 1993<br>N&W 800 Alta Vista - NS 24, sold by 1990</div><div>N&W 408 power car - NS 25, seldom used.</div><div><br></div><div>Keep in mind many of these cars were rebuilt multiple times, so their appearance as built for N&W and in the 70s would be different, and their appearance early on in NS could be different than today.</div><div><br></div><div>http://www.altoonaworks.info/ocs.html is probably the best single source, especially for the modern NS fleet. <div dir="ltr">Fred Hill at the Coach Yard is
thinking about producing Norfolk Southern Office cars in HO scale

<div dir="ltr">I only model the Norfolk and

<div dir="ltr">If he is going to
produce <span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk
Southern Office cars, I will ask if he could consider making any
earlier N&W versions.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;"><br></span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Unfortunately, I have absolutely no
knowledge of </span><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk Southern Office cars or if any
were former N&W business cars. For all I know
the </span><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk
Southern Office cars used on inspection trips came from the
Southern Railway and have no N&W heritage. Or maybe they
were acquired from other sources well after 1982. At least I
do know that the diesel cab units powering the NS inspection trains
have no Norfolk and Western DNA.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;"><br></span></div>
<div dir="ltr">I sure could use a list
of <span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk Southern

also be great.</span></div>
