Not everything on the internet is available for free.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The detail of when the 518676 was painted is not in any of the records Bob Bowers had when he put the database together. We do not have every detail of what the railroad did. You also have to remember this is all-volunteer.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">In his book on N&W Cabooses, Bob Bowers wrote about the various paint scheme, the C-31 class, numbered from 518500 to 518699,was ordered from International Car Company, and delivery began in December 1968 through February 1970. The cabooses were delivered in N&W No. 23 Blue with yellow scotchlite lettering and safety striping on the ends. This caboose is very faded red now and I can't find any hint of blue under the paint or primer. All the info I can find seems to point to the fact that this caboose was always red. I think this caboose was always red but a couple people think it was blue.
