Hi Jon;
It is a good representation of 2200.
N&W did switch tenders on occasion .
Code 55 would be far lighter than rail N&W used under Y class locomotives - or NKP used under Berkshires.  Both were users of heavy rail because of the total cost (rail + maintenance) was a lot lower with their heavy traffic.

I am looking into purchasing the PCM Y6b #2200. Is this model a good representation of the prototype #2200? I plan on using this as an excursion locomotive on my layout. I am constructing my own version of Steamtown on my layout with N&W, Southern, NKP and RF&P steam. Would the prototype rail equivalent of HO scale code 55 rail be too light of rail for these locomotive to have operated on?
Thanks
Jon Kelley
