Yes, Richard, you can buy copies through the Commissary- just like you
always have been able to. The Society cannot afford to print more copies
than are necessary for members and those gratis copies sent out. The
Commissary will sell a "Xerox" copy (nice copies!!) of an entire year
(otherwise the cost and effort of a single issue shipment become
unaffordable) of THE ARROW. This purchase can be made via the Commissary
section of the website.

Is this issue available for purchase anywhere or does anyone have a copy I
could borrow?

Thanks,

Richard

See March April 2001 Vol 17-2 for some info on the UP colored WAB/N&W City
of Los Angeles run through service and a modeling article by Rick Stone.
You can view the photograph of the UP style dome car on the cover of the
issue from the website link.

Re: ShellScale HO134 N&W red lettering for UP "City of St. Louis" pool,
there is a photo of a 44 seat coach lettered N&W in Kratville's UP
Steamliners book page 519. The car is 1838 and according to my 1966 copy of
the passenger train equipment register, it may be one of a kind for
N&W/Wabash. Wabash had such a car numbered 1431 and I believe N&W 1838 is
the same car. Walthers is making this car in HO as part of their UP series.
1838 was of aluminum and steel construction, so it was built by ACF to UP
plans. 1834-1837 were all steel and were former Wabash 1427-1430 and seated
48 passengers.

On another note, I am releasing our newest set, HO134, N134 and O134 in
about 6 weeks. This set is for the N&W cars that were painted in Union
Pacific colors. HO Scale proof is attached.

Thanks,

Richard D. Shell
