need help in lubricating a BLI "A" class Loco

I've been using a friends "A" las BLI loco for more than a few  
months.  today when backing it into the coaling dock I heard the  
gearbox grinding a little.  I've lubed the valve gear n such but I  
can't see how to get to the gear towers.  Can any of you help me on  
this?
