i don't necessarily look for certain locos by road.  If I find the correct phase of loco I don't mind stripping, detailing and painting it.  More often than not I try to find undecorated.

There are several ways to to backdate the GP18.  One is using the Smokey Valley grilles:

While the Plano is a two part system I think it loks way better than the Smokey Valley.  I intend to use them on my GP9's.
