There are not a lot of photos taken in the swamp to my knowledge. <br>

It is a pretty miserable place, snakes and other critters you really don’t want to get involved with.<br>
<br>
Retired Engineer and Archives Volunteer Grandle Meador told me about that and why the crews hated getting stopped on the trackage. I don’t remember the specifics, but I will ask him next week. He does not have emails.<br>
<br>
Also remember, when that line was constructed, engineer William Malone devised the scheme of putting down the cypress logs to build a corduroy roadbed to keep the roadbed above water. The system is still working today, 170 years plus. <br>
