<html><body>Just as a follow-up on the N&W/NS business cars discussion, if anyone has any contacts with a plastic model train manufacturer or wants to offer suggestions to one like Walthers or Broadway Limited, N&W business car #100 is an interesting choice because it can be painted correctly for 3 roadnames in multiple paint schemes:<div><br></div><div>N&W #100 1950s tuscan, no stripes</div><div>N&W #100 1970s tuscan with stripes</div><div>N&W #100 "POCAHONTAS" 1970s/80s tuscan with stripes</div><div>Norfolk Southern #7 "POCAHONTAS" 1980s</div><div>Conrail #5 dark green 1990s</div><div>Norfolk Southern #7 "PENNSYLVANIA" 2000s</div><div><br></div><div>I do not recall seeing pictures of it in N&W blue nor Conrail blue, but I suppose those are also possibilities. The basic look of the car hasn't changed much since it was rebuilt by N&W to give it a streamlined appearance, so a single tooling would likely work for all 3 railroads.</div><div><br></div><div>Marty Flick<br><br><div class="reply-new-signature"></div><p>-----------------------------------------</p>From: "NW Modeling List via NW-Modeling-List" <nw-modeling-list@nwhs.org><br>To: "NW Mailing List", "NW Modeling List"<br>Cc: "NW Modeling List"<br>Sent: Friday May 23 2025 7:32:35AM<br>Subject: Former N&W Business Cars in Norfolk Southern Service<br><br>

<div dir="ltr">Fred Hill at the Coach Yard is
thinking about producing Norfolk Southern Office cars in HO scale
brass.</div>
<div dir="ltr"><br></div>
<div dir="ltr">I only model the Norfolk and
Western. I do not model the Norfolk Southern.</div>
<div dir="ltr"><br></div>
<div dir="ltr">If he is going to
produce <span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk
Southern Office cars, I will ask if he could consider making any
earlier N&W versions.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;"><br></span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Unfortunately, I have absolutely no
knowledge of </span><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk Southern Office cars or if any
were former N&W business cars. For all I know
the </span><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk
Southern Office cars used on inspection trips came from the
Southern Railway and have no N&W heritage. Or maybe they
were acquired from other sources well after 1982. At least I
do know that the diesel cab units powering the NS inspection trains
have no Norfolk and Western DNA.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;"><br></span></div>
<div dir="ltr">I sure could use a list
of <span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Norfolk Southern
Office cars and their previous N&W number. Pictures would
also be great.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;"><br></span></div>
<div dir="ltr"><span style="letter-spacing:-.32px;">Thanks in advance.</span></div>
