Tom,
A while back we started a database in the modeling section our website to collect information of N&W models ( all scales). There are some "O" entries, but they are longing for brothers and sisters. I have done quite a bit of "research" using Ebay and manufacturers' websites to find pictures and other info to enter into the database. We would certainly welcome additional contributions from yourself and anyone else who feels such a collection of model information is worthwhile. if you would be interested in contributing, I can show you how to enter your data.

jimdcochran@gmail.com (859) 227-8809

On Sat, Nov 15, 2025 at 5:45 AM NW Modeling List via NW-Modeling-List <nw-modeling-list@nwhs.org> wrote:

Has anyone on the list ever created or found a list of N&W freight car models (imported or kits) produced in O Scale? (2-rail)
I have several HL type hoppers and the usual Ps1-40 foot boxcars (Weaver, Atlas old Arvid Anderson brass kits etc). But Inspired by pictures of Switchback in the Arrow last year and my wish to run shorter trains behind Type M, G, and W steam engines, I am looking to back date my rolling stock to cars appropriate for the 1900-1920s era.

I am retiring at the end of the year so this is a retirement goal of mine. I’d be happy finding kits or buying one or two brass models with the intent of reverse engineering and creating my own “kit”

I’d be really interested if models were ever available for the early wood side hoppers or gons.

Also can anyone confirm N&W using boxcars in coke service? Page 18 in volume 40 of the arrow appears to show several boxcars along a bank of coke ovens.

Im willing to do the research (from Florida) if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.
