A *New* / *Pre-* Program for Graphic Design (epubs)

O-R-G is now making epubs. (When is it, 2002?) And the first two arrive on 
a typically tangled timeline. It's not clear which came first.

A *New* Program for Graphic Design is a DIY epub textbook co-published 
with Inventory Press that synthesizes the pragmatic with the experimental 
to convey advanced design principles in an understandable form for 
students of all levels as well as general readers. The printed book was 
first published by Inventory Press and Distributed Art Publishers in 
September 2019 and remains actively in print.

A *Pre-* Program for Graphic Design is a video-based epub companion to A 
*New* Program for Graphic Design, but in many ways this sequel came before 
the original. It contains 18 video lectures recorded over 3 days in Los 
Angeles in July 2018. That source footage was transcribed, edited by 
Eugenia Bell and Adam Michaels, designed by IN-FO.CO, and adjusted to 
produce the A *New* Program for Graphic Design in 2019.

Based on courses originally developed for liberal arts students at 
Princeton University, both epubs offer a broad introduction to graphic 
design and visual literacy, covering a wide range of topics from Benjamin 
Franklin to Bruno Munari, Moholy-Nagy to Muriel Cooper and the Macintosh 
computer. Both are full-text searchable, with table of contents 
navigation, bookmarking, and standard epub furniture.

A *Pre-* Program for Graphic Design is 42 pages with 18 hours of video. A 
*New* Program for Graphic Design is 256 pages with 220 illustrations. Both 
are ePub 3 format, optimized for Apple Books on iPad, iPhone, and macBook, 
and available from O-R-G.

present a virtual lecture from A *Pre-* Program for Graphic Design. The 
lecture will last approximately 60 minutes, with an introduction by the
