[Slowhand] Fillmore East beginnings

Cream played at what was then called the Village
Theater in Sept. '67 , later to become the Fillmore
East...Question is...Did Bill Graham own the facility
when it was still the Village Theater???? A friend of
mine remembers seeing Cream at this venue not knowing
what to expect of them at the time, as there had not
been alot of media coverage prior to this first
tour.....He was  rather unimpressed due to the ear
shattering volumes they played at  and the endless
improvisations...:)
