This may be old news to many of you, but I stumbled along Eric performing 
Crossroads with D & B in February of 1970.  This version is very much like 
the Dominos version that came out on the expanded live album.  What's 
interesting is the "woo-hoo" that Eric belts out at around the 55 second 
mark and at 2:18 and 4:15.  I always blamed that "woo-hoo" on Greg 
Phillinganes and/or Nathan East as some bizarre holdover from (I believe) 
Greg's stint with Michael Jackson's touring band.  While it sounded like 
Greg was trying to channel Michael Jackson, it's clear that EC was the one 
who initiated the dreaded "woo-hoo" of the 80s.

The solos are raw in my opinion and Delaney is pretty good for his own 
solo which I believe starts at the 2:30 mark and ends at the 3:55 mark. 
Nice sustain Delaney?  That's not EC right?  HE comes in at around 3:30 
(and does not do all that much).  His better solo starts at 4:25 mark - 
still its not like he's "on fire" during the solo until about 5:25 where 
he kicks it up a notch (even then it's not one for the ages). 

Coming Home is much better for EC at the 3:11 mark and well, they just jam 
so well, the last minute or so is pretty cool.

Other questions:

1.      Does anyone dread the 80's woo-hoos?

2.      Does EC do the "woo-hoo" in any records with the Dominos? 

3.      What about circa 1974?  I've never noticed it on my bootlegs?

4.      And is it just me or does the tempo kick in faster as the songs 
goes forward?
