I don't have tremendous expectations cause last time I saw EC I was rather disappointed (Hyde Park 08). But telling from the recent EC-Winwood collaboration (and also from the Cream RAH reunion), he may wanna deliver something extra on occations like these. On the other hand, those few songs I downloaded from the EC-Beck show in Japan last year were not put on heavy rotation in my player.

Got to admit, I'm surprised at the lack of talk too. That said, I don't
know that my views are going to be too popular.

When I saw the ticket prices, I was aghast. 125pounds for a 'good' seat
seems extortionate to me when we're dealing with a not-very-intimate
setting like the O2 arena. I felt that EC was very lacklustre and just
ringing in his solo performances last year. Clapton/Winwood was very,
very much a highlight and I'd love to see an EC/SW Royal Albert Hall show.

This seems to be a 2 solo sets plus a bit of combined material - a
totally different animal from a full Clapton/Beck band a'la the EC/SW
shows. I've got a nasty feeling it could be another 'going through the
motions' thing, but for all our sakes would like to be proved wrong.

Suffice to say, I'm not risking 125 quid for a back of the side blocks
ticket, plus the London hotels and transport on top of that just to see
another duff performance in a very large arena. As I said, a combined
set in the RAH would've been a different proposition.

Hope everyone who is going gets a cracking performance though!

Cheers
Phil
