Aloha Slowhand people,

In May of this year, Kate Bush released a peculiar compilation CD called "Director's Cut."

Bush took various tracks from two of her previous albums, "The Sensual World," and "The Red Shoes," and re-mixed them whilst replacing her vocals, drums, and other instruments with new recordings.

One of the tracks that received this new production is "And So Is Love." Clapton performed the guitar solo on this track on its original release on the 1993 album "The Red Shoes."

I haven't heard the new "Director's Cut" version of "And So Is Love," so I can't confirm whether Clapton's original contributions have been altered, shortened, lengthened, etcetera.

But I know that there are Clapton-Collecting-Completists out there that might know the details on this.

Confusingly, and as to be expected, "Director's Cut" was released in a regular retail version, a deluxe box set, and a vinyl box set, etcetera. The deluxe box set apparently includes the a CD of the original "The Red Shoes" album (which has been out of print), re-mastered but not re-mixed.

So if someone has the accurate scoop on the old "And So Is Love" versus the new "And So Is Love," please feel free to post the info to the digest.

Thanks,

john
