I was going to try to send this out via snail mail but I am having trouble
accessing our bank account right now. I will keep working on that option so
I can reach everyone but this will have to do for now. I would like to
thank Westley for providing this vital service.

Members of Cub Scout Pack 84:

For 5 years Cub Scout Pack 84 hass been a vital part of the fabric of St.
Bernard Parish. We have been providing a quality youth program for boys
from Chalmette to Violet. We have been active in the community with various
service projects from food drives to providing entertainment at nursing
homes during the holidays. We will return to that role once we are able to
rebuild our parish but now WE are the ones in need, just like everyone else
in our beloved parish.

I am sending out this message for a number of reasons...

Reason number one is the most important: I am trying to find out where all
of my Cubs and their families are. Some of you have already contacted me
and I appreciate that. Even if you have already contacted me, please take
the time to either e-mail me again at djbarrios00 at yahoo.com or call me at my
temporary home in Assumption Parish at 985-631-2420. Also, if you are in
contact with a member of Pack 84 who does not have internet access, please
pass this information on to them.

Reason number two is to remind all of you to take advantage of all of the
resources that are available to us as evacuees. I know that calling FEMA
and the American Red Cross have been frustrating experiences at best but if
you have not already made contact with them, please continue to call. And
if you have not already done so, please get in touch with your insurance
companies and get the claims process started.

The third reason for this message is to inform you that our long-standing
Yahoo Group will become our home away from home. If you have not already
joined the group please take the time to do so now. The address for the
group is groups.yahoo.com/group/Pack84OLOL
<http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/Pack84OLOL> .

I look forward to hearing from all of you soon.

Yours in Scouting,

Darryl J. Barrios (Mr. Darryl)
Cubmaster
