Neighbors,

As Dee Montalbano continues her optimism with such wonderful words
of enthusiasm and spirit, we must all think about our decisions long and
hard - and not make a hasty call to move out of our beloved St. Bernard.
Upstanding citizens like the Montalbanos aren't just good folks next door or
next street, they are what our incredible community is made of and are
irreplaceable. They are the very best of family and friends, something
there is an abundance of in our community.

Please let's have faith in our leadership team of Parish President
Rodriguez, Sheriff Stephens, Senator Boasso, Rep. Hutter and the others. I
saw some innovative and progressive ideas coming to fruition this past year
in St. Bernard and then the 29th of August came along.

My home on Corinne was destroyed like the rest. But I am not giving
up - not yet! I want a semblance of what my family and I were blessed with
until 29 August, a close-knit community of friends like the Montalbanos.

The kids serving overseas aren't here for the money or prestige.
They have answered the call to preserve life in their own "St. Bernards" all
over the U.S. I assure you there is no quitting in them, no matter the
challenge. Let them be the example to give us the fortitude and
determination. Together, yes, TOGETHER, we can do it!!!

Always,
A fellow St. Bernardian
