If you have Allsate insurance pass by the Allstate CAT. CLAIMS CENTER in
Wal-Mart's parking lot. They will give you a 1-800# (I'm looking for it
now) to call. This number is set up for St. Bernard residents only. When
you call they will basically do what State Farm did with their FLOOD
POLICIES. The only problem is, they added one more step. You call, give
them your info. (Policy #'s, Claim #'s etc.) and they will have someone call
you back within ten days to settle your FLOOD CLAIM. That's right, IT'S
ONLY FOR YOUR FLOOD CLAIM. I know that sucks, but it's something. I was
REASSURED that once the homeownwers adjuster went to my home, a portion of
the damage WOULD be paid out from the homeowners side. Basically, that
would be any roof damage, fences down, maybe the contents of your attic,
anything above the flood line. In my opinion, we are still getting the
shaft, but slowly we are making a little progress.

Here is one for the rumor mill, maybe someone can validate this or shoot it
down with some hard facts. An adjuster in Lexington said today that he had
to have all of his Lexington claims done by the 15th of Oct because FEMA (or
some gov. agency) was coming in to level the neighborhood. After that they
were moving up towards Chalmette, evaluating one neighborhood at a time and
leveling it if need be. I personally don't have a problem with this, I
think that's what needs to be done if we are going to rebuild the parish
bigger and better. Not to mention the health, environmental, and safety
issues that come with rebuilding/remodeling structures that have been under
water mixed with toxins for as long as ours have. I was just curious as to
the validity of this statement.

THANKS. I HOPE ALL ARE WELL, GOD BLESS YOU AND OUR PARISH!
