Just to clarify the assistance that is available for KofC Members:
 
Each Knight who lived in an affected area is entitled to $200 from the State
Council.  That assistance is being provided in the form of two $100 Wal-Mart
cards.  To have these cards mailed out to you call the state council office
at 800-442-2379.  You will need your member number (if you have lost your
travel card I'm sure they can still help you out...if you are a member of
Rummel Council drop me a line and I can give you your member number).
 
The form that Brother Johnson attached to his e-mail is for an additional
$1000 benefit being provided by the Supreme Council.  In order to be
eligible for this benefit you must have suffered a total loss (as all of us
in St. Bernard have).  You must complete the form and attach some photos of
your home to document the loss.  The form must be mailed to your Grand
Knight as they must verify your status as a Knight.  The Grand Knight will
then forward the form to the State Deputy for processing.  I have not been
given a timeline on when you can expect to see the money.
