You can get a Texas brake tag.  Brake tags are not like your drivers
liscense and liscense plate, it does not have to match the state your
plate is from.  Your brake tag is not a registration for your vehicle, but
simply is a "certificate" that your vehicle is operational and in
compliance with the rules set forth for to be driven on the highway.  Each
state accepts anothers brake tags.  Hope this helps.
