Keep in mind that there are numerous flood zone elevations within St.
Bernard.  Check the sbpg.net site, there should be a link posted that you
may be able to navigate through. There is a hint that we will be meeting
with the flood plain management people from FEMA in November but not sure
what the outcome, if any will be.  Westley is right that the elevation
requirements before the storm are still in effect, until local government
adopts the recommendations of the management program or unless there is a
mandated change.  The money that you can access for elevation compliance is
for individuals who had flood and are out of compliance now and plus 50%
damaged or if you do not build until after a change, if there is one, that
makes you non-compliant then you can access it.  Keep checking.
 
Thanks Mr. Jimmy for your input, that slidell thing had a lot of people
confused and panicking.
