[StBernard] Murphy Oil Settlements

I've been hearing a lot of different stories of what Murphy has been
offering residents as a settlement, but I still can't quite get a picture of
what their plan is. Supposively, they are basing everything off the square
footage of your house and how close to the spill you were.

I'm not sure I totally agree with the square footage of the house. If I
have a two story house and you have a one story house, why should I get
money for the second floor? It didn't get any oil in it.

By the same token, if we both have a single story house of the same square
footage but my lot is bigger than yours, then I should get more money since
more land was damaged.

The minimum payout of $20,000 seems like a nice gesture to ensure everyone
gets at least something.

I would like to figure out what there zones are though.

If you have talked to Murphy, please send me an email at
murphyoilspill at gmail.com with the amount per square foot, your street, and
what hundred block you are in. By sending it to me and not Westley, or this
list, you're offer will stay private between your and Murphy. After all, I
won't know your exact address or what the square footage of your house is.

Thanks,
Edgar Hampshire
