Hey Melissa,
 
Sorry to make you guys feel left out.  There have been no discussions about
leaving the area below the canal out of the rebuild.  Unfortunately, there
is a time factor that will come into play in the clean up effort that may
make the eastern end a bit more of a challenge, especially the further east
we go, because of some of the devastation.  Rebuilding for people in the
eastern end can follow many of the same patterns as any other area, it is
just that some of the utiltities may not be as readily available.
 
Check out the website sbpg.net, there should be a post soon about the water
and electric services.
