About the swimming pool thing, We saw aerial shots of our house after the
storm and our swimming pool (above ground) still had water in it, but when
we went home around Sept 28, our dining room chair was used to tear the wall
of the pool down, the pool was quite old but I didn't think that the search
and rescue teams needed to destroy our swimming pool. Is this something
that was commonly done?

Thanks Melissa

P. S. When Saint Bernard rebuilds, I have seen a few things here in
Lafayette that would do great in the parish as far as business wise. They
have an ice hockey rink and coaches to teach basic ice skating and
competitive figure skating, (competition's bring in money and people) they
have and adult hockey league and lots of pee wee leagues. Their building is
a mere steel frame building that has installation over the rink, kinda like
a gym. They also have a beautiful soccer complex with about 24 soccer
fields, baseball fields and football fields, they even have a large pond to
go fishing in (Moore Park) Their soccer associations use it for fall and
spring and have corporate sponsors to pay for the kids uniforms and a Coke
Cup Tournament. The park is to die for. web site: www.lysascoccer.com and
the skating rink's web site is www.hockeyplex.com . We love Saint Bernard
but just hope that there will be more to offer to kids and their families
when all is said in done, Living in Lafayette has given us a new experience
in life that we would have not been able to have at home, but home now has a
second chance to make things better, we now know what our Parish is missing
(sending our kids our of the parish to do better after school activities),
roller rinks are cool but kids can take hockey and ice skating to the next
level. Parents pay to have their kids excel and the parish needs more
profiable business attratictions that will last of the long run, look how
many times all of these teen nigh clubs failed and people keep giving these
kids the same type of adult like things to do on Saturday night. Lets give
our kids a better future than we could before. If I could build a ice
complex in Saint Bernard I would but I haven't won the lottery yet.
