The clerk of court is restoring many of the records and is open from 10 - 2
and can be reached at 504-491-5266.  Many flood policies are paid at an
annual premium and that means you may not get a direct refund but if it is
included in your mortgage note the mortgage company will settle it with you.

     Since we pay flood insurance for the whole year, can we now drop it &
get a refund for the remainder of the year, like car insurance ?  If we get
enough money to pay off our existing mortgage, where do we go to get the
lein off of the house ?  I am sure that the records at the courthouse have
been ruined since thet are in the basement.  Thanks for doing a great job !
