Update From State Representative Nita Rusich Hutter

House Bills 17 and 18 by Rep. Hutter has passed the House and will be heard
in the Senate Retirement Committee on Thursday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m.

House Bill 17 would waive interest on certain delinquent contributions
during a declared disaster or emergency. House Bill 18 would allow a member
of any state or statewide public retirement system on involuntary furlough
or leave without pay due to a gubernatorially declared disaster or emergency
to purchase credit for the period of furlough or such leave by paying the
required employer and employee contributions to the system.
