Mr. Fos and all,

The insurance commissioner waived the time limit rules for the insurance
companies in hopes that there would be a greater level of cooperation by the
companies.

The insurance commissioner's office number is 800-259-5300 or 5301. I think
everyone should call at least once a day and express your experience to the
commissioner.

I understand there was an article in Tuesday's T/Picayune about a Louisiana
that law requiring insurance companies to adjust your property within 14
days of normal loss or 30 days in a catastrophe, and, if a carrier is found
dragging thier feet on claims, the penalties include paying double the
assessed value of the property's damage..

Is anyone aware of such? Are there any attorneys out there, familiar with
this law?
I can't speak for many, but, I have been waiting much longer than 30 days
for my homeowners' adjuster's reports, much less settlements.......
