2:00 PM: Update From State Representative Nita Rusich Hutter. During the
2005 Legislative Special Session, House Bills 17 and 18 by Rep. Hutter
passed both the House and Senate. The two bills are awaiting signature of
the Governor. House Bill 17 will waive interest on certain delinquent
contributions during a declared disaster or emergency. House Bill 18 will
allow a member of any state or statewide public retirement system on
involuntary furlough or leave without pay due to a gubernatorially declared
disaster or emergency to purchase credit for the period of furlough or such
leave by paying the required employer and employee contributions to the
system.
