Many people are interested in the time frame of the rebuilding process.  The
time frame is going to be pretty extensive, it will be a gradual rebuilding
process and that is why it will take an extended period of time.  As people
return initially there will be much less available for services and
businesses.  As more people return there will likely be more business
support that comes along.
 
No matter how long it takes, St. Bernard will not die, it is more a matter
of what our smaller, but better community will involve.
 
Keep your options open so that as the parish cleans up and is ready- you can
return comfortably.

i heard you on wwl radio yesterday regarding the above.  i have called
murphy twice regarding my property at 3509 judy drive.  the new map appears
to include my property.  i cannot get anyone to call me back and the last
time i called was 2 weeks ago.  you said to either e-mail you or call you
and you would try to 'birddog' this for us.  you were also talking about how
long it would be before the parish could recover and that it would be approx
10 years!!!!  how can we wait that long to have our community back?!?!?!?
my husband and i had to relocate to mandeville so i could get my childrens
lives back to some sense of normal, but i LOVE st. bernard and have been
there all my life and figured i would die there.  i miss it really bad and
would love to see it back where it was or better, but i just cannot see
people living in 'ruins' for that long.  anyway, i know i am rambling, but i
want US to get back and i, like i am sure EVERYONE else, do not want to
wait.....any input further into this and the murphy thing would be greatly
appreciated.
 
also, just wanted to say a heartfelt 'thank you' for all that you do, have
done and continue to do for the people of st. bernard (which i hope to be
again one day)!!!!!!  kudos.......
