[StBernard] 30 Day Rule on Claims

Wendy,

I would assume it covers flood also. There should be a clause in your flood
policy that specifies the amount of time they have to settle. No mention at
of amount of settlement.

My basic philosophy has been to only fight one battle at a time. After my
adjustor came out, I waited for my official estimate, even though I knew I
would contest it. I figured I can't fight an estimate if I don't have it.

Now that I have it, I will be going back after them with my disagreements
and going from there.

Remember to pick your battles, and if possible, when they take place.

If you contest something, they will most likely ask for evidence. At that
point, the clock stops until you supply them with the evidence they asked
for, at which point it restarts at zero. Try to get a check from them
before you restart the clock.

Does this include flood? And is this based on their assessments of the full
amount of your policy?
