Vitter to announce flood protection proposals

NEW ORLEANS - U.S. Sen. David Vitter is expected to announce specific
proposals tomorrow for strengthening the hurricane and flood protection
systems of the local area. 

Vitter has scheduled a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Kenner. He
has invited a lengthy list of area businesspeople to join him at the
conference in a show of support for stronger storm protection and to send a
message to the Bush Administration. 

The press conference will be held at the Airport Hilton, 901 Airline Drive,
in Kenner.
