I get a "THIS is TRUE" email once a week. Has true, but funny stories in
it.

Here's one I thought everyone else would get a chuckle out of.

Craig, even if the thought does cross your mind when you read this, please
wipe it immediately.

THIS ARREST BROUGHT TO YOU BY: The city council in Oxnard, Calif., has
approved a plan to allow advertising space to be sold on city police
cars. "We think the public safety vehicle could attract a lot of
attention for businesses," the police chief said. Fees for ad space
would help pay for the cars. A local newspaper made fun of the plan by
suggesting the cars could display the slogan for Taco Bell: "Make a run
for the border." (AP) ...Surely, then, WonderBra could sponsor some of
the smaller busts.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS? "Gambling Ship May Have Sunk" -- AP headline

BONZER WEB SITE OF THE WEEK: http://www.TwinkiesProject.com -- The
Twinkies Project. Actually, the site's creators, a couple of guys from
Rice University, call it The T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. Project, with the acronym
supposedly standing for "Tests With Inorganic Noxious Kakes In Extreme
Situations". (No, Hostess doesn't seem to have a problem with their
junk food treats being called "Inorganic Noxious Kakes" -- the company
is hosting the web site! Good for them.) The guys from Rice did several
"scientific tests" on the spongy snack cake (hm: Freudian slip? The
first time I typed "snack cake" it came out of my fingers as "snake
cack"...). Experiments? Like what? Lots of stuff, such as a Twinkie's
response to gravity (it falls; "Creamy filling marks on the sidewalk
may account for the 'splut' sound.") Silly, but a must see for fans.
And there are apparently fans: Hostess sells a half-billion of the
things per year.
