Well said, Jim. I am glad to see there are still a few people with some
common sense out here, which are not just thinking or their own
situation.

Mr. Richardson:

Are you proposing that people who have lost everything and may not be
financially able to return to St. Bernard should spend their precious
time and resources to remove items from a house that may have to be
bulldozed so that you don't see a rat near your home?

Unfortunately, rodents may be a part of the rebuilding process for St.
Bernard in the near future, so if you are going to return, I think that
you need to realize that there are going to be these "other issues" that
may not be able to be immediately addressed by the folks who have been
displaced. Patience and understanding that others may not have your
financial resources would benefit all of the people of the parish.

Can you comprehend the impact on those who may wish to return but simply
cannot? I'm sorry that some people cannot do what you are about to do.

But, in true St. Bernard fashion, maybe you could help them by removing
these items from their homes and this, in turn, would help your
situation. I'm sure that they wouldn't mind (or would they)?

Keep the faith,

JIM
